Updates & Projects

Entry 1: May 28th, 2021, New Portrait Technique

5 days ago I finally broke out my Godox AD200 with an octagonal softbox and tripod. I've used the flash unit a few times at weddings with different levels of success but hadn't used it in a portrait setting. I had already planned on having dinner with my good friend, Jetti, who agreed to model for me while I awkwardly attempted to figure out the set up. It was pretty muggy outside but we had great light. Golden hour is my favorite time to shoot (isn't it everyone's?) and there are plenty of flowering metro parks close by. The Park of Roses is a personal favorite. I'm so happy I took the leap to research the equipment and spent the time patiently testing different exposures. Below are two photos comparing how amazing the flash set up worked for us.
